The termite notice in your Rouse Hill meter box, and why it was missing

What the durable termite notice records, and why we check for it from slab stage onward.

Rouse Hill 2155 · 27 August 2026

In short: Every new home should carry a durable notice describing its termite management system. On two 2026 Rouse Hill builds it was not there.

What the notice is

A durable notice, usually fixed in the meter box, records the termite management system used, where it is, when it went in and how often it should be inspected.

Why it matters

The owner, a future buyer and any pest manager rely on it. Without it nobody knows what protection the house has or how to maintain it.

What we found

On an August 2026 slab inspection and a July 2026 frame inspection in Rouse Hill, the notice was not in the meter box. We reported it both times.

Collars and barriers

At slab stage the physical parts of the system, such as collars at penetrations, are checked before concrete hides them.

What to ask for

Ask the builder for the notice and the installer's certificate. Keep a copy with your home documents.
